Blending Business & Creativity in Interior Design

My career reflects a blend of business management and a passion for design and the creative process.  Maintaining a client-centered approach with a focus on building meaningful relationships is paramount to my work ethos.

Before moving into interior design, a marketing career in consumer electronics at Fortune 500 companies taught me best practices in business planning, project lifecycle management and collaborative execution.  That career also brought me into close contact with a range of designers and the experience of creative development for countless campaigns.  It was that exposure that made me realize the most energizing part of every position I held lay in design and creation.

During the global pandemic, I found myself at a career crossroads and a point of reckoning that led onto the path of interior design, an area I’d been dabbling in for years. Since 2021 I’ve completed professional certificates in Interior Decorating from the University of Richmond and in Sustainable Building Materials from The New School at Parsons School of Design, and worked as an assistant designer in a design business in Richmond.  I’m a Professional Member of the International Furnishings & Design Association, and am President & Owner of Mizia Home Interiors.
